My Style: Black and White – High Contrast

Lisa Williams

My favorite photographer is Henri Cartier-Bresson. I try to find inspiration especially in street photography. Here are a few of my favorites.

The flower was taken on June 8, 2015 in my garden.

I like to have some fun with photography, so I take the expression “shooting from the hip” literally. I hold the camera at my hip and just press the shutter. More than once I have been satisfied with the result. It is always fun to have some kind of surprise when I upload the photos.

Lady and Son   –   Lisa Williams

The lady’s hat was taken when I went boating with friends. She was just sitting looking at the water. She was so at peace, I just couldn’t resist.

The elderly gentleman is my grandfather. Believe it or not, this photo was taken when I was in high school… probably 1975 or 1976. My grandfather was from Cyprus and was very proud of the fact.

The first 3 were taken with my Nikon D5100 The one of my grandfather was taken with my old Nikon F2A (which I still have)

Hope you enjoy them. You can probably guess that I like high contrast.
